Cooperative de Servicios Multiples Juan Marco El Palto (JUMARP) is a cooperative that formed in 2003, starting with 35 local producers, & now works with more than 300 producers in the Lonya Grande district in the Amazonas region in northern Peru.
JUMARP has grown to represent coffee growers across the highlands of Amazonas and the neighboring department of Cajamarca
The “El Palto” in the name represents the terroir, named after the highlands surrounding Lonya Grande. This coop is located in Peru’s northern Andes on a lush and mountainous landscape between the Pacific slopes and rainforest lowlands of the Amazon basin
The producers in this area often grow coffee alongside shade trees, fruits, and vegetables on the same couple of acres of land
