About the Coffee:
This coffee was harvested in a new producing area called “Hafi,” located in the the Muyinga Province of Burundi. This producing area is named “Hafi,” after the new Hafi washing station that was built in 2021. “Hafi” in Kirundi means “close,” referring to the proximity of this washing station to the 2,000 small producers living in the area. Before the washing station was built, producers living in this remote part of northern Burundi traveled 20 kilometers every day to the nearest wet mill to drop off their harvested cherries. Now, with having the new washing station closer in proximity, producers can focus more on quality and processing.
